About Walter Weston
I am
Walter Weston the developer of Emotional
Release Therapy. I am a United Methodist
clergyman. I have practiced spiritual
healing for 40 years, healing thousands of
people through prayer and touch. Here are
the important events that have shaped my
life as a healer.
When I was 30 years old, I prayed with a
dying man in the hospital and he was
completely well during the five minute
prayer. During the prayer I had a peak
experience of God and felt a powerful energy
descend upon my head and shoulder and flow
down my arm into the man’s hand. The
experience surprised me because I had paid
no attention to healing. It taught me that I
was a healer. The healings continued. About
half the persons I prayed with were healed.
I traveled to India in 1989 to work with
healing researcher Ramesh Chouhan, MD, who
had a grant from the Indian government to
study healing and the changes in the human
energy field at JIPMER hospital in
Pondichery. Using a low light video camera,
we videotaped the changes in the energy
field when I practiced touch-healing prayer.
We scientifically proved several theories of
healing.
We proved that it took only 89 seconds of
healing contact to light up the whole body
with healing energy. We proved that a
healers inner sensing of what is happening
in the clients body is scientifically valid.
We proved that the healing energy imparted
to a client made her whole body glow for
48-hours before she was healed. We proved
nine other theories of healing
I earned a doctorate in healing research in
1991. My faculty advisor was Dr Bernard
Grad, a research biologist at McGill
University who is known as the father of
healing research with more than 200 studies
of the effects of healing touch on plants
and animals to avoid the placebo effect in
healing humans.
My first book, “PrayWell, a Holistic Guide
To Healing and Wholeness,” 1994, 440-pages
footnoted, was taken from my doctoral
dissertation and presents a comprehensive
scientific look at healing.
I discovered Emotional Release Therapy in
1994 and have practiced it with more than
500 people. I have taught more than 4,000
students in the United States, Canada, India
and South Africa in my Emotional Release
Therapy workshops.
In 1996, I traveled to India to teach Pranic
(Hindu) Healers to practice Emotional
Release Therapy. Before the workshop, they
complained that they had very few healings
and none were permanent. After the workshop,
they excitedly phoned me to tell me that
after doing ERT, everyone they worked with
was healed and healed permanently.
It was then that I realized why some people
were not healed. It was because if you are
filled with emotional pain, somehow this
blocks the effectiveness of all healing
techniques. You must first remove emotional
pain with ERT before any form of healing can
heal effectively.
My books in 1996, “Healing Others” and
“Healing Yourself” were practical guides to
healing.
In 2000, I was invited to South Africa by a
non-profit group that provides a free
education to 80,000 rural Zulu children
every year. I taught rural Zulu school
teachers and social workers so that they
could educate others in the practice of ERT
on the millions of rural children orphaned
by AIDS. They were the most effective
practitioners of ERT of all the students I
have taught.
In 2006, my book, “Emotional Release
Therapy” was published. Readers proclaim it
to be the best book I have written.
In 2006, I developed a web site for
promoting my book, “Emotional Release
Therapy,” and my DVD using all the words I
say in my six hour workshop. |
